Guitar fans are in for an excellent evening as the SatchVai Band delivers their Surfing With The Hydra Tour 2026 to Boston's Leader Bank Pavilion on Wednesday, 20th May 2026. The event starts at 6:30 PM before the show begins at 7:30 PM.

The two guitar masters Joe Satriani and Steve Vai have joined forces to create an extraordinary musical partnership. Joe Satriani brings his 15 Grammy nominations and his two albums "Surfing with the Alien" and "The Elephants of Mars". Steve Vai brings his three Grammy Awards and his 2022 album "Inviolate" to this musical collaboration. Adding to the whole concert lineup is Animals As Leaders, the progressive metal known for their 2022 album "Parrhesia".

The Seaport District amphitheater located at 290 Northern Ave provides visitors with two seating choices which include reserved seats and open-air areas. The event offers ticket options which begin at $48.

Catch the phenomenal SatchVai Band featuring Joe Satriani & Steve Vai alongside Animals As Leaders at the legendary Leader Bank Pavilion on Wednesday, 20th May 2026. This outstanding evening brings together three excellent acts mixing instrumental together rock, indie and progressive metal in a single legendary night. The venue gates will open at 6:30 PM before the show begins at 7:30 PM. The occasion represents part of the Surfing With The Hydra Tour, covering North America with destinations in major cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and multiple locations across the US and Canada. The SatchVai Band performs their first North American concerts. Joining Satriani and Vai are distinguished musicians Kenny Aronoff on drums, Marco Mendoza on bass and Pete Thorn on guitar. The entry fee kicks off at $48.

Joe Satriani

Joe Satriani has spent forty years delivering his distinctive technical guitar and instrumental rock music. Come on down and witness the live performance of three enduring songs which include "Surfing with the Alien" and "Flying in a Blue Dream" and "Always with Me, Always with You". His latest album, "The Elephants of Mars" (2022), displays continued innovation in guitar composition. Satriani has received 15 Grammy nominations while his music sold more than 10 million albums in the United States and he became a member of the Guitar Player Hall of Fame. Satriani taught guitar to Steve Vai during their teenage years and continued to form a friendship that lasted forever and produced music for this tour. His professional experience includes performing with Chickenfoot during tours while he has worked with artists Mick Jagger and Deep Purple.

Steve Vai

American virtuoso Steve Vai delivers epic guitar skills his notorious flamboyant stage production. Enjoy their favorite songs "For the Love of God" and "Tender Surrender" and "The fan Is Listening" when they are performed live. His 2022 album "Inviolate" follows his pattern of developing experimental guitar music. Vai has earned three Grammy Awards, earned recognition as the '10th Greatest Guitarist' by Guitar World magazine and moved over 15 million albums. Fascinatingly, Vai transcribed guitar parts for Frank Zappa at merely 18 years old and developed the epic Ibanez JEM signature guitar series. His professional experience includes composing music for films and orchestras as well as performing with David Lee Roth and Whitesnake and developing new guitar effects methods.

Animals As Leaders

Opening, Animals As Leaders provides instrumental progressive metal mastery founded by guitarist Tosin Abasi. The musical style "CAFO" and "The Brain Dance" and "Physical Education" will be performed by fans who will hear these songs with their extended-range guitars. The their metal guitar skills have advanced through their 2022 album release titled "Parrhesia".  Their name derives from Daniel Quinn's novel "Ishmael", examining human-animal relationships. The band performs live with Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes on guitars and Chebon Littlefield on drums who create metal jazz electronic music.

The outdoor amphitheater known as Leader Bank Pavilion operates from 290 Northern Ave in Boston MA 02210 and offers spectators breathtaking views of the Boston harbor from its location in the Seaport District of Boston. The entertainment venue offers 5,000 seats to visitors who can select between covered pavilion reserved seating and lawn area entry at no cost. Fans can chow-down on range of a range of snacks and drink options; that include beer, wine, cocktails, snacks and meals from multiple vendors, with cashless payments preferred.
